"Here's something interesting: you correctly quote the first line of the last stanza as
    gey ikh mir a freylekher, 'I go cheerfully' but Theodore Bikel, on his 1960s record (see link below), sings
    gey ikh zikh a troyriker, 'I go sadly''
Perhaps, in love, sadness and happiness are not so far apart.
Bikel makes many other small changes, but that is in the tradition of making the song his own."

    gey ikh mir a freylekher (je vais gaiement) mais Theodore Bikel, dans son disque de 1960 (voir lien ci-dessous), chante
    gey ikh zikh a troyriker (je vais tristement)
Peut-être que dans l'amour, la tristesse et la gaité ne sont pas si éloignées.
Bikel fait beaucoup d'autres petites variations, mais cela relève de la tradition de s'approprier la chanson."
